PLAGIARISM RESEARCH PAPER

This paper presented the two different views and status of plagiarism in Eastern and West colleges.

As the world is closely linked, there are hundreds of international students enrolled in American universities. During the period, they will meet a new word “plagiarism”, which is different in their own country. Thus, this paper tries to summarize and compare the difference between Eastern and American colleges, in order to help international students, to overcome the problems and keep them far away from being accused.

Finally, according to this research paper, I had a clear understanding of the “Plagiarism” and the academic difference in America, which help me easily integrate into the new country. Certainly, I learned how to take advantages of facilities, how to search sources and how to write a position paper.

DISCIPLINE ACADEMIC WRITINGS

This project contains several academic writings in my discipline, Statistical Science, including Interview, Journal Analysis, Article Analysis and Language Analysis.

International students are required to master conventions of scholarly writing in their disciplines and expected to reach graduate-level academic writing in the U.S. Thus, this project helps students become familiar with discipline-specific writing and understand professional writing conventions through the journal, article and language analysis.

Finally, according to this project, I gradually draw a deep comprehension of academic writing in my discipline, understand and master several professional conventions. What’s more, I also learned how to search academic journals and articles, and how to analyze these journals, articles and the language. These showed I have make a great preparation for my graduate study.

MARKETING EFFECTIVENESS ANALYSIS

This project is a professional analysis that use appropriate statistical models to fit a marketing panel data from a company, and try to find out and analyze the marketing contributions, average and marginal ROI curves, optimization of the budget under different scenarios and address several specific business questions about marketing effectiveness.

Statistics students not only need to understand the function of statistical concepts, but also are required to learn how to use these methods to analyze the actual problems. This project is an example that shows students try to use nonlinear regression methods to do a marketing effectiveness analysis.

According to this project, I deepened my understanding of nonlinear regression methods, and learned how to combine my knowledge with the actual problems, and how to choose appropriate statistical concepts to analyze these problems. These skills can help me easily integrate into my further study in Statistical Science.
