I am very interested in the position of Term Assistant Professor – M.S. Program in Data Analytics Engineering. I am currently studied in George Mason University, seeking a Master Degree of Statistical Science. As an international student in GMU, I prefer to take advantage my limit time to explore more knowledge in my discipline, that I will enrich my college life and broaden academic horizon. Thus, I love to work in the college environment which are full of academic atmosphere. In addition, I noticed the responsibilities that explained “Teaching will primarily be at the graduate-level, but may also include the undergraduate level where appropriate”. Certainly, I completely accord with this standard. I have achieved my Bachelor’s Degree of Statistics in Zhongnan University of Economic and Law in China. What’s more, I have had one internships in Rongshang Banks as an assistant for data analysis, which provide me a great opportunity to check my knowledge in my major with putting them into exercise and achieving feedback from my own experience.
My achievement also presents my ability to increase chance to obtain this position in the future. During my undergraduate period, I mainly prepare my practice skills out of knowledge in books. I have been working as an assistant with several professors to help do some researches, including data collection, sorting and sometimes analysis. The professors also teach me much more knowledge in the discipline, such as using simple estimator methods to solve complex and actual problems. By assisting them do the researches, I enhanced my understanding of the flexible application of research methods in data analysis. Additionally, I also got familiar with the research’s steps, which helped me building a systematic framework of statistical experiments. With the deeper comprehensive of statistical concepts, I have engaged in several competition of Mathematical Modeling in different areas, although I did not receive many rewards, I have obtained most important skills – the more knowledge you learn, the more experiment you do, the much more power you will get.
My strong point is to deliver the knowledge and skills by transforming complex concepts into simple examples. I have exceptional organization abilities and schedule management skills that can take advantage the time sufficiently and reasonable to make sure every students’ problems will get possible solutions. I am also a passionate person who have powerful energy to study and grasp new statistical concepts.
